🔐 Licensing & Purchase

How many devices can I use with one license?

Each Whispry license allows you to use the app on up to 2 Macs that you own. This is perfect for using on your desktop and laptop.

Is this a subscription or one-time purchase?

One-time purchase, forever. Pay once, use forever. No subscriptions, no recurring fees. You also get free updates for the lifetime of the product.

Can I get a refund?

Yes! We offer full refunds within 14 days of purchase if you haven't activated your license. If you've activated and encounter technical issues we can't resolve, we'll also provide a refund.

How do I find my license code?

Your license code is in your purchase confirmation email. You can also view it in your Dashboard after logging in with the email you used to purchase.

Does Whispry send my audio to the cloud?

Absolutely not. All transcription happens 100% locally on your Mac using the Whisper AI model. Your voice never leaves your device. No internet required for transcription.

What languages are supported?

Whispry supports 11 languages with optimized accuracy:

  • English, Spanish, French, German
  • Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish
  • Japanese, Korean, Chinese
How accurate is the transcription?

Accuracy depends on audio quality, accent, and model size. With the Small or Medium model in a quiet environment, you can expect 95%+ accuracy. Larger models are more accurate but slower.

What does "smart text correction" mean?

Whispry automatically removes filler words like "um", "uh", "like", "you know" from your transcriptions. It also fixes common issues like repeated words and adds proper punctuation.

💻 Technical

Does it work on Intel Macs?

Not yet, but coming soon! Whispry is optimized for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) Macs only. We use Metal GPU acceleration which provides the best performance on these chips.

How much storage do the models need?

Model sizes vary:

  • Tiny: ~75MB
  • Base: ~140MB
  • Small: ~470MB (recommended)
  • Medium: ~1.5GB
  • Large: ~3GB
Why does Whispry need Accessibility permission?

Accessibility permission allows Whispry to type the transcribed text directly into any app at your cursor position. Without it, you'd have to manually copy-paste the text.

Can I use Whispry with any app?

Yes! Whispry works with any application that accepts text input - Slack, Notion, VS Code, Mail, Notes, browsers, and more. Just focus on any text field and start dictating.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

The hotkey isn't working

Check that:

  • Whispry is running (icon visible in menu bar)
  • Your hotkey doesn't conflict with another app
  • Try changing your hotkey in Whispry settings
Text isn't being typed into my app

Make sure Accessibility permission is enabled: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → Enable Whispry

My license won't activate

Ensure you have an internet connection for initial activation. Double-check your license code for typos. If issues persist, contact support.
